In the end, the real challenge is less about technology and more about ensuring quality time with children. If we don’t achieve this, we may wake up one day and realize that our children are all grown up and that the opportunities to engage, live and learn with them are largely gone.

The main reason I haven’t moved forward with my hyperlocal business is that I can’t tear myself away from The Boss, and at age six months, she can’t tear herself away from me. Moreover, I’m afraid of missing some developmental milestone while my eyes are set on the computer.

I don’t know if there’s a happy medium between starting a business and raising The Boss, but I’m willing to err on the side of family.
